Mixed Media Altered Art

Hello friends,
Hope you are doing good! It seems like a long time since I wrote my blog. I've been busy celebrating Navratri last weekend and happy to share the good news that I'm part of the wonderful team RG Aveneue. Check out their online shop filled with awesome collections of stamps, dies, inks, cardstock, stencil and many more. Now, they have an exciting deals on stamps till December, hurry up and get yours now.

One more news, "RG Avenue Share your Heart" convention is happening from Oct 9 to 12 at Arizona, follow the link for registration and don't miss this wonderful opportunity. I've used Convention release products for my mixed media Altered Art.

How to:
  • Apply a coat of white gesso over the bottle. Then paint them with green, blue and brown acrylic, allow it to dry.
  • In the meantime, stamp the image from RG Avenue "Boho lens" onto the bristol smooth cardstock and color them with copic markers.
  • Paste this colored image over the bottle. Stick some foam flowers and decorate the remaining space with RG Avenue die cut "Summer leaves"

Altered Art !

Hi all,
Today I came up with a new series of art - Altered Art, this is so fun and happy to recycle the waste products. I have turned a wine bottle into a beautiful home decor.
Tutorial:
  • Remove the labels from the bottle and apply a thick coat of white gesso/ black gesso.(if you are using white gesso, then coat it with black acrylic)
  • Arrange the embellishments, flowers and other items onto the bottle using E6000 glue and allow them to dry for few hours.
  • Now paint them with black acrylic/ black gesso and make sure to cover the entire bottle in black.
  • Paint a coat of gold, silver, purple, green and blue pearl metallic colors here and there until you are satisfied the with designs.

Materials Used:
  • Wine bottle,
  • White gesso
  • Black acrylic

Painted Wine bottle with Clay

Hello everyone,

I tried painting the bottle again in a different way. If u see my previous Bottle painting,I've used only acrylic, but this time I improvised it by using clay.

I have made video tutorial for this bottle decoration

Tutorial:
  • Remove the label by filling up the bottle with hot water for 20 to 30 mins, them peel the label from one corner.
  • Paint the entire bottle with chalk paint/ gesso.
  • Draw a pattern/design with pencil
  • I've used air dry clay only for the turban, you can use it accordingly. Allow it to dry for few hours.
  • After drying, color it with acrylic
  • Atlast apply a coat of varnish for glossy look and protect from dust particles
